The XFS(tm) Filesystem from Silicon Graphics, Inc. XFS is a highly scalable, high-performance journaling filesystem that provides rapid recovery from system crashes. Refer to the documentation at http://oss.sgi.com/projects/xfs/ for complete details. Kernel modules for xfs are in kernel-module-xfs rpms. The xfsdump package contains xfsdump, xfsrestore and a number of other utilities for administering XFS filesystems. The xfsprogs package contains a set of commands to use the XFS filesystem, including mkfs.xfs. xfs and the kernel modules have been provided by Urs Beyerle. xfsdump and xfsprogs are from CentOS extra's.
